Driver's License Restoration Clinic by Judge Mike Jones
Last year, Judge Jones hosted his 2nd annual Driver’s License Restoration Clinic, partnering with Legal Aid of Northwest Texas and the Department of Public Safety. The clinic helped individuals with suspended licenses regain their driving privileges and get back on the road legally.
Mental Health Support Initiatives by Judge Mike Jones
In 2022, Judge Mike Jones has prioritized mental health awareness and support in his community service efforts. He organized and hosted a Mental Health Community Seminar, bringing together experts and local organizations to educate the public about available services. This initiative aimed to reduce the stigma around mental health issues and provide practical resources for those in need. Additionally, Judge Jones advocates for increased access to mental health services to ensure individuals facing challenges can receive the support necessary to improve their well-being.
Community Support Initiatives by Judge Mike Jones
In 2021, Judge Mike Jones hosted an Eviction Relief Seminar to provide landlords and tenants with valuable resources and assistance programs. The event offered support for landlords to recover overdue rent and helped tenants find options to remain in their homes. Participants were connected with programs like the Dallas County Eviction Diversion Program, offering practical solutions to prevent unnecessary evictions and promote stability in the community. This event brought together over 125 participants, both in-person and online, offering assistance on rent, mortgage, and utility assistance.
Reality Education for Drivers
In 2022, Judge Mike Jones partnered with the Texas Department of Transportation in hosting the RED Program (Reality Education for Drivers). This FREE program was designed to develop healthy attitudes, help all drivers make better choices before getting behind the wheel, and to save lives!

Forward thinking
- Created Teen Court program to address Truancy and At-risk youth as an alternative to probation.
- Started year-round student internships and work release programs for high school and college students.
- Introduced Mediation and on sitecourt Mediators to dispose of over 300 civil cases that were pending trial.
Accessibility & Accountability
- Volunteered with the school districts on career days and regularly attended events within my service area.
- Appointed to a technology committee by Executive Dallas County staff to improve systemwide accounting measures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Recognized errors in current court processes and made long needed adjustments in the best interest of the taxpayers and to increase productivity.
Systems Improvement
- Transitioned from paper-based to electronic processes that will develop a new case management system within Justice of the Peace courts converting to paperless processes in order to streamline case processing times.
- Standardized processes for all Justice of the Peace courts to meet state requirements.
